Utah Mold Inspections, Testing, Removal, and Restoration
The Disaster Company provides complete Utah mold inspection, removal, and cleanup services. Here is just a look at our comprehensive process that follows IICRC guidelines.
- Mold testing and inspection. Our professionals will promptly come to your property for an on-site inspection. With mold hazards, there must be a water source (including high humidity). Testing is usually not required because mold can be visually identified. Mold presence can typically identify larger problems.
- Containment and cross-contamination. Our professionals will contain the contaminated areas with plastic walls, zippers, etc. Then air scrubbers will be applied to purify and clean the air of contaminants. Setting up a negative air environment is critical to not transfer contaminated air space with clean air space.
- Cleaning and removing the mold. Affected porous materials will be removed 18” beyond the visible mold. Non-porous and structural materials are cleaned thoroughly.
- Drying. Air movers and dehumidifiers will be activated to completely dry the area.
- Sealing. Once everything is dry, the remaining structural porous material will be sealed. These include wood framing, sheathing, and sub-floor.
- Final cleaning. Everything, including the containment walls and equipment used, will be cleaned to remove any mold spores.
Additional Information About Mold
How Does Mold Growth Happen?
Mold grows when mold spores land in an area with ideal conditions, such as darkness, moisture, and cool temperatures. The bathroom and the kitchen are common places for mold to grow because those areas have the most plumbing. You can reduce mold growth by keeping these areas clean and dry.
Should I Get My Home or Business Checked For Mold?
If you suspect that your home has been affected by mold, don’t hesitate to check. Common signs that your home has been affected by mold include mildewy or moldy smells. Less common signs are if you or other residents experience frequent coughing, sneezing, or trouble breathing. Even if you do not smell mold, spores traveling through the air may make it more difficult to breathe. If you’re experiencing any of these symptoms or warning signs, call The Disaster Company for an inspection.
How Long Does Mold Cleanup Take?
Mold cleanup can take days or weeks depending on the extent of the growth. Our cleanup depends on the types of mold prevalent on the property, the extent of the spread, and the surfaces affected. Rest assured that The Disaster Company will do everything in our power to get your home back to normal as quickly as possible while taking the utmost care to ensure mold is completely removed before you return to your home.
