Utah Asbestos Testing, Inspections, Removal, and Cleanup
Asbestos Testing & Inspection
The Disaster Company works with trusted third party companies to conduct asbestos testing and inspection safely and quickly. We’ll take samples of all at-risk areas and takes them to an asbestos testing lab. Verbal results are relayed within a matter of days, but a full written report can take up to two weeks. From that point, we can provide a plan for asbestos removal, disposal, and cleanup.
Asbestos Removal & Cleanup
When asbestos is ready for removal, the professionals at The Disaster Company will schedule a time with you to set up a containment area. These containment areas utilize thick plastic, support beams, zipper doors, and more to protect the rest of your property and the surrounding area.
For cleanup, our licensed technicians also use wetting agents to reduce airborne particles and keep you safe, then asbestos is removed in approved containers. Areas are vacuumed and air scrubbed to remove any lingering residue. Then a final clean is initiated to prepare the area for demolition or repairs.
Additional Information About Asbestos
What materials use asbestos?
Asbestos is commonly found in drywall, drywall joint compounds, plasters, glue or mastic, vinyl flooring, ceiling textures, ceiling tiles, insulation, and more. Contact us if you suspect your property might be affected by harmful asbestos.
Should I get my home or business checked for asbestos?
Homes built prior to 1983 should be tested. Some materials, such as all vinyl and all textured ceilings, should be tested regardless of age. If you’re uncertain if your property has been tested for asbestos since its construction, we recommend you contact us. In addition, testing is required by law prior to demolishing any at risk materials.
How long does asbestos cleanup take?
The process from inspection to disposal and cleanup can take days or weeks depending on the job. Depending on the size of the property and the area affected, the job can vary from beginning to end. Contact us for an assessment and quote. We’ve conducted asbestos abatement for residential and commercial properties, big and small.
